Hi Friend,
Keeping your epic "Best Gift Ever" a surprise for your significant other can be a challenge. Usually we only get our hair and makeup done for special occassions that include our partner. So if you're wondering how you can avoid having to scrub off your gorgeous glam look after you shoot, I've created a list of excuses to explain where you've been, and why you're all done up.
1. Sephora Makeover At The Mall
No joke! Sephora does these makeover days where they take random customers and perform a tutorial in the middle of the store. You can say you went in to get your favorite product, got asked if you wanted your makeup done and you decided to go for it.
2. Supporting A Friend
Do you have a friend, friend of a friend, or know somebody that is a makeup artist, hairstylist, or photographer? A lot of hobby artists or people just starting out need practice. They round up their friends or do a model call to get people in. If you don't know anyone, you could say it was an Instagram model call for everyday women.
3. Girls Day
You and your girlfriends, sisters, cousins, etc. have decided to have a girl's day where you get pampered.
4. Makeup Trial (Bridal or Events Coming Up)
This is the PERFECT go-to for brides. You can just say you were having your hair and makeup trial with your style team for your upcoming Big Day. Even if you're not a bride, you can say it was a trial for any special event you have coming up; a graduation, a birthday party, holiday event, charity event, someone else's wedding, etc.
5. Please Don't Ask
If you really don't want to tell a little white lie, or don't think anyof those would be believable for you, some clients simply say “It's a surprise for you, please don't ask me any more questions.
I don't want to ruin the surprise. You'll find out on (your birthday, anniversary, date you are gifting it, etc.)”
Ready to book? Maybe you just have more questions?
