My clients have been mentioning more and more how challenging it was to finally find the right photographer for their Boudoir experience due in part to the various ways pricing is handled from studio to studio. Listen, I get it. I know it can be confusing (and not to mention frustrating) for you when trying to find a photographer you vibe with...but the pricing is ALL over the place! So, instead of focusing on choosing an artist that will flawlessly execute a gorgeous Boudoir experience for you...you're wondering "is this gonna be $400 or $4000?"
And...why do some photographers charge $400 for the session AND all the images, whereas others charge $4000 for "the same thing?"
Keep reading...I'm going to tell you why.
The Photography Industry has been undergoing a major shift over the past 20 years. It has been going from an industry of mostly hobbyists to an industry of true business owners creating a career, and full-time income for their families from their passion and artwork. Because of this change, there is a huge
discrepancy that hardly gets addressed or talked about.
As a fulltime photography business owner, we must operate our studio legally which requires incorporation fees, licenses, sales tax, and many, many, other operating costs. We must continually hone
our craft and education to bring the best quality and expertise to our clients not only with our skills but
our business too. While a hobbyist may want to earn a little income to pay for their equipment and time,
we Photography Business Owners have to build our expenses and income into our product prices, or our
upfront session fee. There is so much more time that goes into running a business along with many
additional expenses that I won’t bore you with, but I hope this helps shed a little light on the varying
prices out there.
My best recommendation to aid you in this decision is to go back to a previous post: Choosing the Right Boudoir Photographer for You!
I offer a complimentary, no-obligation, consultation to help clients understand everything involved in
doing a shoot. We sit down, go over all the details and options to create a customized experience just for
them. Plus, they get to meet me and make sure I’m the best fit for them too!
Does this help shed some light on varying prices? Do you have more questions? I’m here to help
however I can!
